mold solution

The air distribution system or air ducts should be very clean, air tight, no mold growth and use high efficiency air filters.

Mold growth is commonly found in the air ducts, along with construction debris, drywall dust, pollen, skin flakes, fiberglass, and insects. Every time the central air system comes on to heat or cool some of these pollutants are “puffed” into the air you breath.

The EPA states: “health effects may show up either years after exposure has occurred or only after long or repeated periods of exposure”.

“These effects, which include some respiratory diseases, heart disease, and cancer, can be severely debilitating or fatal. It is prudent to try to improve the indoor air quality in your home even if symptoms are not noticeable”.

Contaminants build up inside the air ducts over time and make your duct system an ideal breeding ground for mold. These resulting contaminants are then circulated throughout your home and affect the health and comfort of your family.

Homes older than 2 years may have air ducts that leak. Leaky air ducts in the crawlspace or attic draw in polluted air with mold, pollen, fiberglass, insects, smog, ozone and radon.

Typically air ducts are internally lined with insulation called “ductliner”. The ductliner is made of ? thick fiberglass which is an excellent surface for growing mold if wet or moist.

Mold contaminated ductliner is common in air ducts that leak. This situation can be hazardous to your health.

Mold can be allergenic, pathogenic (creates a disease) and or toxic, so fixing the cause of the moisture that allows it to grow and removing the mold is critical to having a healthy building.

U.S. Pro Air Duct cleans both residential and commercial air ducts. IES has the equipment and technical knowledge to clean your air ducts to the National Air Duct Cleaning Associations and the Environmental Protection Agency standards. IES takes before and after pictures. Air samples and 24hr monitoring is also available to verify air duct cleaning effectiveness and provide through IAQ assessments.

Key benefits to air duct cleaning:

1. Better efficiency -average residence saves $5 to $25 per month.
2. Increased comfort -houses smell better, heat and cool quicker.
3. Improved air quality -reduces dust, pollen, and mold levels.
4. Better health – Those with allergies, asthmas, heart disease, and cancers benefit from good air quality.
